Framing

Tanalised Treated 4″ x 1½” Redwood, Making a Strong Substantiol frame construction. Choice of eaves height, stables recommended 8′ to Eaves Height + Single Course of brickwork Total Height = 8’3″

Base

6″ thick Concrete Foundation with a single brick course.

Walls

Our own pattern ex 100mm x 25mm (planed to 20mm thick) Redwood Log Clad with a 10mm tongue & groove giving extra weather protection to housing spec! All External Timber Nailed with Stainless Steel Nails (meaning nail heads won’t go rusty & leave dark stain marks in cladding) Internal: 18mm OSB3 Lined up to 4′ High or full height if required.

Glazed

4mm Clear Toughened Safety Glass. Heavy Duty Grill with bars spaced at 3″ centres fitted internally.

Door

7′ 4″ High x 4′ Wide Framed Ledged Braced Batten Stable Door, Hung on Heavy Duty Galvanized Hooks & Bands, Bottom half of door lined with 18mm OSB3 giving a total door thickness of 3″, Anti-chewstrips fitted, Galvanized 8″ padbolts, Kickbolts & Cabin hooks fitted.

Roof

Constructed using Tanalised Treated Trusses made from 6″ x 2″ cls & Tanalised Treated Roof Purlins either 5″ x 2″ or 6″ x 2″ cls depending on span of building with a 3’3″ overhang to front or larger if required the overhang has spaced soffit boards to allow ventilation or you can have it totally enclosed with TGV boarding. Roof boarded with 18mm OSB3 covered with felt underlay for increased weather protection, then Felted with Anderson heavy duty Green Mineral felt Sealed with Sealant on all Overlapping Joints. Also Felt Slates, Cedar Shingles & Steadmans twin skin insulated roof panels or single skin drain dripstop anti-condensation application! option available. Steadmans sheeting also has a predicted sevice life of 40 years, is available in nine different colours, and availabe in up to 6m long lengths so sheets can be in one length from ridge to eaves!

Finish

All timber buildings come with two coats of stain with any colour of your choice using either Sikkens Novatech 2 coat system for a semi-gloss finish, or Sadolin Classic 2 coat system for a matt finish. Both Features:

  • Highly durable
  • Excellent absorption into the surface
  • Highly translucent to bring out the beauty of the wood grain
  • One coat maintenance.

All Stables are Made to Order, Built to Customer Spec and are competitively priced too.

Having ordered a timber built garage from Hesket Timber Buildings we found the quality of the materials to be of a high standard as promised, Martins attention to detail in the construction and finish of the building was second to none.

Our only concern was would it survive the very high winds we experience living on the top of a hill in rural Dumrfies & Galloway. I can now say having recently had a 3 day period of high winds gusting in excess of 94mph +,we found the garages “belt and braces” construction to be more than adequate for the wind speeds experienced.
