Framing

4”x 1½” Redwood Tanalised, Making a Very Strong Substantial frame construction to start from. Choice of eaves height.

Walls

Our own pattern ex 100mm x 25mm (planed to 20mm thick) Redwood Log Clad with a 10mm tongue & groove giving extra weather protection to housing spec! All External Timber Nailed with Stainless Steel Nails (meaning nails won’t go rusty & leave horrible dark stain marks in cladding)

Glazed

4mm Clear Toughened Safety Glass. (Double Glazing Optional Extra)

Door

7’ 6″ Wide x 7’ Tall Opening. Unsorted (High Grade) Vac Vac treated Redwood Framed Ledged Braced Batten Double Doors Hung on Heavy Duty Black Hooks & Bands. Held Open with Garage Door Opening Stays. Security: BS Union 5 Lever Mortice Lock with Black Handles (Up & Over Door, Personal Side Access Door Optional Extra) Wider doors are also an option depending on size of building!

Roof

Tanalised Truss & Purlins Construction with Overhang at Eaves & Gable Ends. Roof boarded with 18mm OSB3 covered with a felt underlay for increased weather protection then Felted over with Anderson Mineral Felt Slates. (Cedar Shingles, Slates, Marley Concrete Tiles & Steadmans Plastic Coated Steel insulated roof panels option available).

Finish

Any colour of your choice using either Sikkens Novatech Two coat system for a semi-gloss finish or Upgrade to Sikkens Filter 7 three coat system Both Features:

  • Highly durable
  • Excellent absorption into the surface
  • Highly translucent to bring out the beauty of the wood grain
  • One coat maintenance.

Recommended Base

6” of Compacted Hardcore, Damp Proof Membrane, 4” Concrete Slab.

Having ordered a timber built garage from Hesket Timber Buildings we found the quality of the materials to be of a high standard as promised, Martins attention to detail in the construction and finish of the building was second to none.

Our only concern was would it survive the very high winds we experience living on the top of a hill in rural Dumrfies & Galloway. I can now say having recently had a 3 day period of high winds gusting in excess of 94mph +,we found the garages “belt and braces” construction to be more than adequate for the wind speeds experienced.
